What does EMI Locker actually do?

EMI Locker gives phone retailers three connected capabilities: device control, payment tracking, and AI-powered collection automation.

1. Device Enrollment & Control

When you sell a phone on installment, just add the customer in the EMI Locker retailer app. The phone enrolls itself automatically — no QR code, no factory reset, and the customer's apps and data stay untouched. By the time the customer leaves your counter, the device is already under your control. Lock the screen, restrict apps, prevent SIM swap, activate kiosk mode — all remotely from your retailer panel.

2. Payment Tracking & Wallet Management

Every financed device has a linked payment schedule in your dashboard. You see exactly which phones are on time, which are approaching due dates, and which are overdue. Wallet management handles key purchases, top-ups, and settlements between retailers and distributors. All in one place — no spreadsheets.

3. AI Risk Prediction & Automated Collection

EMI Locker's AI scores every financed device's default risk weekly based on payment history, device activity patterns, SIM changes, and location data. High-risk accounts get automated WhatsApp and SMS reminders before due dates — reducing defaults without manual follow-up calls. Retailers see AI risk forecasts for each account in the dashboard.

What Is EMI Locker — FAQ

EMI Locker is a device financing management platform for Android phone retailers and distributors in India. It uses Google's Device Policy Controller (DPC) to enroll financed phones, track EMI payment schedules, generate AI default risk scores, and remotely lock overdue devices without physical access. Pricing starts at ₹60 per key with no monthly subscription.

EMI Locker uses Android's official OS-level device management — not accessibility service. This means the lock cannot be turned off from Settings, cannot be bypassed through Safe Mode, and if the customer attempts a factory reset, Factory Reset Protection kicks in automatically and the device cannot be set up again without the retailer's release. Accessibility-based EMI apps can be bypassed in under 30 seconds. See: EMI Locker vs Accessibility Apps.

EMI Locker is used by three types of businesses: (1) Phone retailers who sell Android smartphones on installment plans. (2) Appliance retailers who sell Android TVs and tablets on installment. (3) Distributors who manage keys and sub-wallets across multiple retailer accounts. Over 3,600 retailers use the platform across India.

A key is the license unit you purchase to enroll one Android device. Each key covers one device for one year. Purchase a key at ₹60 (or more at volume), use it to enroll one phone or tablet into DPC management. After enrollment, you can lock, restrict, track, and release that device remotely.

Yes. EMI Locker uses Google's official Android DPC API. Enrollment happens at device first setup with the customer's knowledge. The EMI lock condition is disclosed to the customer at the point of sale as part of the financing agreement. The platform has been reviewed and complies with Google's enterprise policies.
